Waste of time

We are currently living in a paradoxical moment as human beings, never before in history have we accumulated so much knowledge, technology, and wealth. At the same time, we have never before depleted so significantly the natural resources around the planet and the limits of the natural and artificial are becoming increasingly difficult to define. "Waste of Time" is an exhibition that aims to make visible the different points of view of different artists regarding the Anthropocene crisis in the context of a planet constantly manipulated by human beings. Can art help in the crisis? Is society interested in changing anything? Or we are just wasting our time?

10 Seconds Instagram Photos

The overproduction of photographs is a phenomenon associated with the automation of digital photographic devices and different social media platforms. My project seeks to make physically visible the number of images that are shared every 10 seconds on Instagram (An average of 10,000). This mass production of images makes their content irrelevant and banal; today more than ever, we produce every day more images than any human being could look at in a lifetime. It seems that the more we produce photographs, the more invisible they become to our eyes. In this context, it is worth asking if the mass production of images does not suggest reinterpreting the ontological meaning of what photographs are, their uses, and their purposes, it also raises the question: What is the role of photographers in the age of mass image production?
