The Real Virus

As a visual testimony that certifies that we exist in the world, photographs allow us to transcend death and be reborn in the eyes of those who look at our portrait. This project shows images of women and girls who were victims of femicide during the health emergency in Ecuador by COVID-19. The portraits printed on metal show faces with no natural figuration, they have been destroyed to make imaginable, in front of the eyes of the viewer, the terrible physical abuse that these women and girls suffered when they lost their lives as a result of male violence.
