As a visual testimony that certifies that we exist in the world, photographs allow us to transcend death, as well as to be reborn in the eyes of those who look at our portraits. This project shows images of women and girls who were victims of femicide during the COVID-19 health emergency in Ecuador. The metal-printed portraits show faces with no natural figuration; they have been destroyed to make imaginable before the eyes of the observer, the terrible physical abuse these women and girls suffered when they lost their lives due to male violence.
