Katherine was stabbed 24 times between her chest and back. It happened in the apartment where she lived in Ambato, by her former partner Gabriel Ch. V, 36 years old. Family members said that all the nails on both hands were pulled out and that she also had a bite on her right hand. Katherine did not want to go back to him after a three-month relationship that both of them maintained because he was abusing her both verbally and physically.
